Overview of Prema Sai Baba's "Lingodbhavam"
Lingodbhava - Symbol of Time - Space Manifestation of Divinity :
Maha Shivaratri Prema Sai's Lingodbhava refers to the annual event
where Sri Prema Sai Baba would miraculously manifest
a Shiva Lingam from his body on Maha Shivaratri,
symbolizing the emergence of the formless,
infinite nature of the divine.
This manifestation is seen as a divine blessing,
with some followers believing it grants liberation from the cycle of birth and death.
The first such event occurred in 2020, and it became a central,
sacred part of the Maha Shivaratri celebrations at the Shanti Nilayam- Prema Sai Ashram.
You are indeed blessed, since front among the billions of people on this earth,
you alone were able to come into this congregation, this presence, on this occasion.
People gather in many a sacred place for Sivarathri,
but, you were able to be here on this thrice-holy day and witness
the emergence of the dasha angula swarupa!
[―the Upanishads declare that God is athyathistath dasha angulam,
the ten-inch- symbol of the kaala (time),
desha (space)―manifestation of divinity, as described by Sage Kapila,
the incarnation of Narayana Himself.]
Having had the unique good fortune of witnessing the emergence of the
time-space-embodiment in the Linga-form,
I assure you that you are released from the bondage of birth and death.
Recollect (and live in the recollection of) that moment of emergence
and meditate on the significance of the Linga-form.
This is the chance that is seldom gained through the performance of
yajnas or yagas or other elaborate rituals or as a result of years of arduous sadhana.
When you are asked by friends/ sai devotees what happened at Shanthi Nilayam,
tell them that your life's mission has been fulfilled,
that you were able to witness the miraculously wonderful event of Lingodhbhavam,
see the Linga which emerged during the auspicious hour.
Lingodbhavam Symbolism:
Lingodbhavam (meaning "emergence of the Lingam") signifies Shiva's infinite,
formless nature as a column of light.
The Lingam, a symbol of creation and union with the divine,
is seen as a focus for meditation and realizing oneness with God.
Lingodbhava Significance:-
The first Lingodbhavam by Prema Sai Baba took place during the Maha Shivaratri of 2020,
when a Lingam emerged from his mouth in front of a small group of devotees. For devotees,
witnessing this event is considered an immense spiritual blessing.
In some discourses, Baba indicated that witnessing
the Lingodbhava could lead to liberation from future births.
Lingodbhavam Devotion:
The event is viewed as an embodiment of the divine's love and a way to experience the ultimate reality. The act, despite causing physical pain to Baba, was said to bring great joy to him and the devotees, much like a mother experiences joy during childbirth, notes from Prema Sai's previous discourse.

Prema Sai Baba's Miraculous
"Vibhuti Abhishekam"
Vibhuthi Abhisheka by Sri Prema Sai Baba
Swami Himself is Pouring Vibhuthi (holy ash) on the "Prema Shiva Linga" deity statue !!
Overview of Vibhuti Abhishekam :-
Maha Shivaratri with Prema Sai involves a special vibhuti abhishekam, or holy ash bath,
in addition to traditional Shiva worship like lingam abhishekam with milk, honey, and other offerings.
The vibhuti abhishekam is symbolic, representing
the shedding of worldly desires and vices to achieve a state of purity.
Symbol of the soul :
It also represents the true nature of the soul, which is changeless,
like the ash that does not fade or rot.
Symbol of detachment :
Vibhuti (holy ash) is the final form of all elements,
and applying it is a reminder to reduce one's desires to nothingness.
Purity :
The practice encourages devotees to burn their vices and bad habits,
becoming pure in thought, word, and deed.
Significance of Vibhuthi Abhisheka :-
The Sivarathri Festival, as celebrated here, is an example for you.
You might ask, "Swami has often declared that all days are holy days,
that there is no special rite or ritual that has to be observed on any single day.
but, Swami Himself is pouring vibhuthi (holy ash)
on the Prema Shiva Linga (Sannathi Te,mple) deity statue
and calling it abhisheka (anointing the idol) Swami is doing so, to teach you a lesson.
The Vibhuthi Abhisheka has a potent inner meaning which Swami wants you to grasp.
The Vibhuthi is the most precious object, in the truly spiritual sense.
You know that Siva burnt the God of Desire or Kama,
called Manmatha (for he agitates the mind and confounds the confusion already existing there)
into a heap of ash. Siva adorned Himself with that ash, and thus He shone in His Glory,
as the Conqueror of Desire. When Kama was destroyed, Prema (Love) reigned supreme.
When there is no desire to warp the mind, Love could be true and full.
Significance of vibhuti in the Sai Avatar's tradition :-
Offerings of Vibhuti Abhishekam :
This is a special ceremony where the deity is bathed with vibhuti,
often performed by a spiritual "Sakti Swaroopa - Motherly Love" like Sri Prema Sai himself.
Lingam creation :
A rare and special Brahmandalinga (a cosmic lingam)
has been known to emerge from Sri Prema Sai Baba during the Maha Shivaratri celebrations.
Mantra chanting :
Devotees chant powerful mantras like
"Om Namah Shivaya" to stay immersed in devotion throughout the night.
Other observances:
Worship often includes lighting lamps (diyas) and holding a fast throughout the night.
In essence, the Maha Shivaratri celebration at Prema Sai Ashram on a rich blend of traditional
and unique rituals, with the vibhuti abhishekam serving
as a powerful symbol for spiritual transformation and liberation.
